Running to Serve District 3
Darmouth South - Eastern Passage

I have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local, provincial and national causes close to my heart including protecting community green spaces, supporting fellow Canadians in-need and celebrating diversity and culture. I serve on the community on the Board of Shubenacadie Canal Commission, HRM Special Events Advisory Committee, Portland Estate and Hill Resident Association among many other local associations and boards, and have received numerous awards in recognition of my community commitment and passion.

Specifically, my participation as a Board Member on the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission has brought me closer to the priorities and challenges of all abilities and cultures.  And, I will continue to push forward issues to ensure sustainability and equality is present in our community for all residents, and for future generations.

Let’s build stronger thriving communities together!

Community Priorities:

From my 15+ years on the ground, I have a pulse on many concerns and ideas to help build a stronger, inclusive, and sustainable community.

As our community and attention changes, I am committed to  listening, evolving and moving forward new ideas and plans over time. In the coming weeks as I engage in more discussions with you, these priorities will continue evolving to support what is important to you, the residents of District 3.

We’re part of a unique district that defines our community. We aspire as individuals, organizations and businesses to create a sustainable healthy community.

The senior population is predicted to double by 2030. I am committed to build new and improved social, recreational, and health-related services to improve the quality of life for our seniors and loved ones. Giving back to those who have formed the foundation for our beautiful communities is both personal and essential work that is close to my heart.
As a fast-growing community many rely on public transit. I am committed to enhance the transit network to cater and better serve our seniors, youth and residents. PUshing forward improvements to service, including access from Shearwater-Mount Hope Connector Road, creating convenience of transit stops, and other measures will help to reduce the delay and time-spent to reach your destination.
Climate Change may be a global concern, yet impacts our local communities greatly. In the fight against climate change, advocacy and action need to start right here at home. I am committed to promoting the HRM Climate Change Action Plan and working closely within citizens in District 3 to find solutions and implement programs, including a Park-and-Ride for Eastern Passage/Cow Bay.
I’m passionate about the safety and accessibility of our community, as well as leveraging opportunities for growth. From traffic calming to affordable housing, and park and recreation maintenance to urban lake planning, I am committed to improving the enjoyability of our community for all residents. And our community is growing, with exponential opportunities for better urban planning, tourism marketing, profiling our military communities, and support improvements for our business districts.
An investment in youth is an investment in our future. I’m a strong advocate for empowering our youth to reach their full potential, and am committed to building opportunities, programs, resources and tools to lift them up and reach their goals and dreams.
I am known for being a voice for those who need to be heard. It is my fundamental belief that every voice deserves to be heard and I will work tirelessly to enhance the volume of those voices while advancing inclusivity and diversity progress and issues.
15,000+ volunteer hours, committing to over 1,200+ annual hours per year
